Welcome to the new 9th Avenue Barbecue Website.Yes, it's
all barbecue photos! Why? Because I ran out of space on the 9th Avenue website,
so I moved all the barbecue photos to this new 9AM Website.
I would love any feedback anyone wants to send me. Please send any coments to:
Philflash@AOL.com.

COMING SOON - PHOTOS FROM A CLASSIC 1997 BARBECUE IN BLACK AND WHITE!!!!
This website is dedicated to all the people who chilled
on and around 9th Avenue in the Sunset District of San Francisco from the early
1990s to the early 2000s. From the Jammin Java at 9th & Judah to Big Rec and Shakespeare's Garden in
Golden Gate Park and beyond. I did not become part of the scene until 1994/1995 when
Eric Louie was working at the Sunset Beacon as an intern and I was the photo editor. But these
were some of the best times of my life. The barbecues, the football games, the house
parties - great times! Looking back at all the
photos I have taken I just realized that unwittingly I documented a piece of
San Francisco history. A history of a group of people, most who are friends,
who hung around or just had some connection to 9th Avenue, Sunset District in San Francisco. Even if they just came
to the Sunday football games or the barbecues, or worked or lived in the area - there was some connection to 9th Avenue
and the people of the area. The changes over the years tell a story, from
Ramiro's drinking days on 9th to his wedding days and now him about to be
a father again for the fourth time. Wow! So thank you all for your friendship
over the years. I hope you enjoy seeing your photo on the pages. Sorry if you don't
see yourself yet. Slowly, but surely, I will try to get most of the
photographs I shot of the crowd on the site. Thanks for your patience.
